Coucou Book is a book club for English speaking children in the heart of Paris Rive Gauche. Our workshops are designed to make reading fun and creative.
We encourage young readers to discover great books, share new stories, explore important topics and have some bookish fun!
Reading children's storybooks can not only inspire creative ideas, but it can also bring characters and plots to life by following up with art activities. From book-themed activities to arts and crafts, we have plenty of ideas for our young readers!
The finished activity is also a lovely souvenir for children to take home and show their families as a reminder of the time they've spent with the book club.
Programme
What do we do during our workshops?
+
Whilst the host reads, children create. During the readings, we also discuss the stories and learn about the authurs. For example, whilst reading The Moomins, we meet Tove Jansson and "travel" to Finland.
Does the child need to read the book before the workshop?
+
No, you don't need to prepare for the workshop.
Daniel Pennac, French writer, came up with 10 rules for a reader and the 1st rule is to have a right not to read.
Can the parent be present during the workshop?
+
Yes! Parents can stay and observe or they can help the child with the creative process.
